About Us
At the core of this work, we believe it is crucial that gun violence prevention advocacy fairly represents the students, educators, and community members impacted by this growing problem. Get to know us!
Our Story
On November 30, 2021, a student brought a semi-automatic handgun into Oxford High School and killed four students: Hana St. Juliana, Tate Myre, Justin Shilling, and Madisyn Baldwin. Seven others were injured, including a teacher. And nearly two thousand were left traumatized.
In the aftermath of the shooting, Oxford students decided to channel their anger into action by forming an initiative focused on gun violence in our communities. We cannot change what happened to us, but we can prevent others from experiencing our pain in the future. We are taking action today to ensure a safe future for all Michiganders.
